Open Call: BLUE AESTHETICS

This new art exhibition explores the meanings and multiple shades behind the colour "Blue," which expresses emotion, mood, and symbolism, and is not just a mere colour.

We are looking for blue artworks that reflect on beauty and fragility, presence and loss, and the unseen forces shaping both the natural world and our spiritual, personal inner lives.

Please note that we are very selective with the artists we choose, so you can be reassured that your works will be well curated, presented and labeled on our gallery walls. 

Open to interpretations.

We are accepting various art forms:

Painting, sculpture, installation, video, digital, object, cyanotype prints, textile art, performance, among other mediums.

Reception night: Friday 20th November, 6-7:30 pm.

Exhibition dates: 19th - 27th November 2026

Dates:

Application submission deadline: 16th November, 11.59 pm.

Announcement: By 18th November, notification by email

Please make sure that you have read through the submission's guidelines and rules properly before submitting your work.

Wall work must not exceed 50cm x 70cm (to include any mount/frame). 

3D work should have a maximum footprint of 60cm x 60cm x 100cm.

Images

  • You can submit up to 10 images, max 4MB each, for consideration.

  • You can also send us links to your videos and performances.


Acceptance into the exhibition:

  • Successful applicants will be notified by email.

  • Artists are responsible for delivering or shipping their works to us by using reliable couriers to ensure timely delivery. 

  • Digital and videos will be displayed digitally on a 46" monitor in our art gallery at Fox Yard Studio. Files of selected works can be sent to us by email or by WeTransfer.


Costs:

  • £35 per selected work.

  • As well as having a physical presence, artworks will be featured online.


Who:

Artists at all levels. All media types are welcome.

Applicants are not required to be local.  All works are to be presentable, framed (if applicable) and delivered under the responsibility of each selected artist by the given deadlines.

  • The theme is open to interpretation.

  • We offer you a platform to showcase, promote and sell your artworks via our art gallery and our Instagram via Art Magnitude.

  • Submitting your work is free of charge,

  • There is a 25% commission on Sales for physical works.

  • If artists are not able to collect unsold works after the show has ended, we can return your works to you by courier or post.

  • Artists are responsible for all postage and tax fees incurred in delivery and return of accepted artwork.

How to prepare your files for submission:

File names:

Submitted Images must named appropriately.

Example:

The image titled ‘The Perfect Moment by the artist Jack Right’ would have this file name: ‘Right_ThePerfectMoment.jpg’;

The second untitled image by the artist Jack Right: ‘Right_Untitled_2.jpg’.

In the body of your submission e-mail please include:

  1. Your full name (and artist name if required);

  2. Your city and country;

  3. Your website address (if you have one);

  4. Social media account handles (e.g. for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or other):

  5. Titles of all included images with the corresponding file names, with medium, year, selling price. Please ensure you NAME YOUR IMAGES THE SAME AS YOU WRITE THEM IN THE EMAIL. Example below:

  6. The actual or desired size of work when framed / ready to hang (in cm – not inches please)

  7. Please upload your curriculum vitae and any other supporting information that you feel would enhance this application.

 

Image to send in

Please send clear photos of your artwork.  If the file sizes are too big for email, please use www.wetransfer.com to send them, ensuring you send all the relevant information along with this.

Video or film to send in

Please send us your file in MP4 format.

terms and Conditions:

1. Accepted works need to reach the art gallery before the show opens.

2. We do not offer refunds if the artist pulls out of the show after confirming and paying the exhibition fee.
