Tom Coomber is a landscape artist who primarily works with acrylic paints on canvas. As a neurodivergent artist, he experiences life far more intensely than the neurotypical population, and his experience of the world around him is captured in his vibrant paintings which almost appear to move. This means the scenes he chooses are sometimes unusual aspects of landscapes that have appealed to him, further inviting exploration.

Tom's painting, "The World Will Keep Turning", was shortlisted for the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy in 2022, and he has shown work at the New Faces exhibition at The Hold (Home of Suffolk Archives), Needham Market Art Show and Ipswich Art Society's annual exhibitions at Ipswich Art Gallery and St Clement's Church as well as Art Space in Woodbridge and at Snape Maltings. He has a small fan base in the US. In April 2023, he sold his first piece at auction in New York, and has connections with Link-d and licensed two images for use by Teddy Fresh a clothing company. He has now been part of the judging panel for an autism charity based in San Diego for 3 years, and for the Needham Market Town Council's art competition in 2025.

Tom has collaborated with Hannah Aria, a fellow neurodivergent artist, on a community mural for the New Skills Centre in Ipswich in 2023, and they jointly ran a workshop for neurodivergent artists on behalf of the Ipswich Art Society entitled “Masking/Unmasking”.

Tom continues to develop his skills through courses and workshops and has undertaken sessions with Simon Farr, Art Safari, Tamanay Hunt and Firstsite in Colchester whose Art Collectors Group was kind enough to award Tom a bursary in 2024. Tom was thrilled to stage a solo show at Asylum Studios in Rendlesham in 2024, and was delighted to be awarded this solo show at Fox Yard Studios in 2025 through the Open Call exhibition "Contemporary Landscapes" in 2024. Tom hopes that his local connections could attract people who don’t normally attend art shows, and perhaps inspire them to pick up a paint brush themselves. He is very grateful for the recognition and excited to share his vision of life with others.

This exhibition marks another solo show to add to Tom's list of achievements and brings together nearly forty original paintings, from miniature paintings to prints, at Fox Yard Studio.
